Mission Statement

News & Clues (ISSN 0730-1618) is an electronic newsletter published by SJVIS that seeks to promote reference resources, techniques, and cooperation between libraries and library staff. The newsletter serves the interests of the San Joaquin Valley Library System and the Heartland Regional Library Network. News & Clues is currently published on a semiannual basis.

The History of News & Clues

News & Clues was first published in July of 1960 and was then published monthly until the middle of the 1990's, when it became a bimonthly publication. Later in the 1990's, because of a greater reliance on web pages to communicate timely information, News & Clues changed from a print publication to an electronic publication with the spring 2001 issue.

Contributions Welcome

Your input and contributions to the newsletter are welcome. Staff of the San Joaquin Valley Library System and members of the Heartland Regional Library Network are encouraged to submit information or articles related to the area of library reference, useful web sites, as well as announcements or success stories of your library's recent activities. Send articles to sjvis@sjvls.org with the subject line "News & Clues Contribution."
